What the guarantee covers
Every Byytes plan, Shared, Reseller, and VPS, is guaranteed to be available at least 99.9% of the time in any calendar month. That works out to a little over 43 minutes of allowable downtime a month before it counts against the guarantee. If we fall short, you're entitled to a service credit as described below, no need to have noticed the outage yourself, we track it and apply credits automatically.
Service credits
If actual uptime in a given month falls below 99.9%, we apply an account credit toward your next billing cycle based on how far short we fell:

Credits are applied automatically to your account within one billing cycle, you don't need to file a claim. Scheduled maintenance windows, announced at least 72 hours in advance, aren't counted against the guarantee.
How we get there: redundancy
Uptime isn't a promise made in isolation, it's a property of the infrastructure underneath it. Byytes hosting runs across two data center regions, with automatic failover if a region experiences a hardware or network issue. Power, cooling, and network paths are redundant at the facility level, so a single point of failure doesn't take a site offline.
On VPS plans, your resources are provisioned with dedicated vCPU and RAM allocations, so another customer's traffic spike doesn't affect your instance's performance or availability. On Shared and Reseller plans, resource limits and isolation between accounts keep one site's load from degrading others on the same infrastructure.
Monitoring, around the clock
Our infrastructure is monitored continuously, with automated alerts that page our on-call team the moment a service degrades, often before customers notice anything. Combined with the status page on our support site, this means incidents are caught and addressed quickly rather than discovered through support tickets.
